LOST and LORD OF THE FLIES
William Golding creates characters to allegorically represent a range of political beliefs and value beliefs in society. Lost does much the same with a variety of characters, but it provides most of the stranded characters a chance to reverse their fortunes or present a different persona while on the island.
From what you know of the characters to date, explain what aspects of society are represented by at least three key characters. Define what strengths or traits these characters bring to the island. In what ways have these characters already demonstrated changes in their behaviour?
Lastly, just as in Lord of the Flies, how and why does the newly formed society provide the perfect chance for the characters to change their outlooks and approaches to life? (Approx. 1-1.5 pages)
